Future Planning

We've been discussing one of my least favorite topics, "What Happens When...". What happens when I lose function, what kind of care will I need, how do we pay for it.
While it is so much better to have a plan or plans in place, I admit hating to look into my functional future. Actually, lack of function. You might try to comfort me by saying, 'You never know', [thank you for that], but, I understand my prognosis. Also, you must consider a worst case scenario when making these plans. Yuck!

IMO, every human needs to plan for the future. The "what happens when" topic is relevant to everyone. Maybe Bill and I need to have that talk, too. Planning for the future is important to all of us as we age.

Definitely a humbling thought, Steve, and I understand how your circumstances probably make it all the more of a tough thing to tackle. What we have now is precious, and we don't know exactly what the future holds (thank goodness). Sometimes just taking things as they come (while still planning for the likely scenario) is the easiest and most manageable way to get along in life. I'm glad you have your new friend to watch out for you (soon, I hope!!!).
